Ash Wednesday & Stations of the Cross

Picture
Lent begins with Ash Wednesday on 17th February. There will be Mass here at 7am. The distribution of ashes will be a sprinkling of ashes on the head. This is in line with current restriction due to COVID-19. Stations of the Cross will be held each Friday during Lent after morning Mass at 9.30am and again on Friday afternoon at 5.30pm.

Registration for attendance is available online via the buttons below.
We would prefer pre-registration so we can prepare sufficient booklets for attendees.

This is only necessary for your first time.) Click on the box Cancel Order. Click on Yes, Cancel this order. You will receive an email confirming your cancellation for your mass booking.

SOME NOTES RE BOOKING
  • Some families have more than one "Surname". When you are booking seats, could you please use one surname for all members. The ticketing programme gives a report with the surname you use and so, if you have specified different surnames, you may inadvertently be allocated seats in different parts of the church.
  • Are you sure you are booked in? Did you book enough tickets for ALL of your household who will be coming? When you book online you must receive a message similar to this:
YOU'RE GOING TO Weekday Mass Thursday 8.30AM               1 TICKET SENT TO youremail@thatyougavewhenbooking.com
DATE Thu, 16 Jul 2020 8:30 AM - 9:00 AM AEST              LOCATION Stafford, QLD
  • AND you will receive an email confirming your booking. (You do not need to print out the ticket(s)) This email will say something like, "Denis Your Order is Confirmed..."
SOME REMINDERS/TIPS TO KEEP US ALL SAFE AND FREE FROM COVID-19:
  • Please ensure you always book.  Booking is for the purpose of Contact Tracing.
  • THANK YOU for arriving at the church early enough to be settled in time for the start of Mass. Just imagine the chaos if you were just on time with everyone else!! So, THANK YOU!
  • Please follow the instructions of the “marshal” who has a responsibility to ensure we keep to what the Law requires of us regarding Contact Tracing, Social distancing etc
  • Please maintain 1.5m separation (or when seated, two seats) from those not of your household. (NOTE: The end seats in each ROW are EMPTY because someone sitting there would be less than 1.5m for those walking in the aisles.)
  • Please use hand sanitiser:
    • Before entering the Church
    • Before receiving Holy Communion
    • When leaving the Church.
  • All loose money (notes, coins and/or ‘envelopes’) are placed in the Collection basket before you enter the church. COVID-19 expectations is that we do not pass the plate around.
  • EXITING AFTER MASS   At the start of Mass we only have the Main Front doors open.  If we forget to open all the other doors in readiness for the end of Mass, it's OK for you to open them and exit via them. While waiting your turn to exit, please maintain the 1.5m distancing.

COMING TO HOLY COMMUNION:
  • Referring to the Map, you can see YELLOW arrows and PURPLE arrows. YELLOW arrows indicate the path TO Holy Communion, the PURPLE arrows are the return path to your seat. Please maintain 1.5m separation on both journeys.
  • Come in SINGLE FILE (even down the centre aisle)
  • Note that we have FOUR AREAS (A to D) in the main body of the church. If you are in Area A or D, please wait until all rows in B and C have moved forward to Communion, THEN, starting from the BACK ROW, each row comes to Communion working down to Row 1. This will keep the Communion Procession orderly while maintaining social distance.
  • HAND SANITISERS: On your procession to Communion, there are Sanitising Stations just before you move forward to the minister (at the end of Row 2 for Areas A to D, and near the BAPTISMAL FONT for Areas E , F and G ). Please use them and after doing so, JOIN YOUR HANDS TOGETHER so as to keep them sanitised in case there is an accidental contact with the minister.  You may find it easier (If coming from Areas A and D) to sanitise your hands at the holy water fonts near the front door rather than wait until just before receiving Communion).
  • Regulations stating there is NO Communion on the tongue and NO Communion from the Cup are still in place.

NEWSLETTERS AND OTHER HANDOUTS
  • For COVID-19 reasons, please take your newsletter/prayer book etc home with you. DO NOT RETURN THEM TO THE HOLDERS in the church.
  • Finally, there are THREE EXITS – please use ONLY those doors (it will save us a lot of expense and time in cleaning the church after mass.) ALSO Sanitise your hands as you leave.
  • WE are a great community here at Stafford.  Thanks for looking out for each other and ensuring we can worship well in these times and at the same time, care for each other.
